Florence Sink Sowers

Florence Sink Sowers age 94 of Welcome Bethesda Road passed away early Thursday morning, May 26, 2011 at the Brian Center of Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 27, 2011 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, and other times at the home. Florence was born in Davidson County on February 9, 1917 to Thomas Herman and Clara Beard Sink. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, and accountant with National Realty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willie Melvin Sowers; four brothers, Willie, Fred, Clarence and Kermit Sink and two sisters, Gladys Beeson and Beulah Benoy. She is survived by one son, Thomas (Tommy) Henry Sowers of Lexington; one daughter Betty Sowers Rogers and husband John of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Amy Hinson and husband Tommy, Jeff Long and wife Wendy and one great grandchild, Dustin Long and soon to be baby boy Hinson, her sisters; Edna Presley of Midway and Francis Beeker of Lexington, her many nieces and nephews.
