Florence West

Florence Sidden West, 97, of Lexington and formerly of Sparta died Sunday, December 2, 2012 in Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. David Talbert officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the church, just prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday at the Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, NC Mrs. West was born November 9, 1915 in Wilkes County to Henry Talton Sidden and Lizzie McCann Sidden. She was a retired Dietician for Glade Valley School and Sparta Nursing Home and Co-member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Sparta United Methodist Church in Sparta, NC. Preceding her in death was her husband, of 64 years, Seabond West, January 10, 1998, a granddaughter, Debra Lynn West, a brother, Walter Sidden and two sisters, Edna Martin and Ennice Sidden. Surviving are a son, James (Jim) West and wife, Clara Vann of Lexington; a daughter, Dawn West Riddle and husband, Thomas of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Donna West Petree and husband, John of Kernersville, James Eric West and wife, Sally of Raleigh, Joshua Thomas Riddle of Italy, Jenny Elizabeth Riddle of Charlotte; one great granddaughter, Emily Kate West; two sisters, Mary Siceloff, Grace Allred both of Winston-Salem and a sister-in-law, Virginia Sidden of Clemmons, NC. and many nieces and nephews.
