Florence Josephine White

Florence Josephine White, 89, of Swearing Creek Drive, died Saturday June 28, 2015 at the Hospice Hinkle House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Disher officiating services. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson funeral home. Mrs. White was born June 12, 1926 in Laurens County South Carolina to Burgen Olis Rippy and Mary Sue Teague Rippy. She was a member of Lexington Community Church in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thurman Clayton White, two brothers; Frank Rippy and George Rippy, and two sisters; Virginia Stewart and JoAnn Dodgen. Surviving is one daughter, Kina Motsinger and husband Vestal of Linwood, two step daughters; Diane Davis and husband Willie of Shelby and Teresa Bridges of Shelby, two grandchildren; Mandi Griffith and husband Adam and Seth Tickle and wife Sonni, and five great-grandchildren; Davis, Presley, Greenlee, Jordan, and Jake.
