Floyd Lawrence Hege, 88, of Lexington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February, 17, 2022, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Richard Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Hege was born on December 8, 1933, in Davidson County to William “Bud” McKinley Hege and Minnie Lee Hege. He was a retired machine operator, having worked for Thomasville Furniture Industries, and was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. Mr. Hege was an avid gardener, and a talented clock and furniture maker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilmer Hege, and Jacob Hege; and his sisters, Lucille Hedrick, and Dorothy Leonard.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Teresa Hege Morgan; his granddaughter, Chandra Morgan Rice; his great-grandson, Landon Rice; his companion, Dorothy Brinkley; his nephews, Gilmer “Mutt” Hege, Jr., Gerald K. Hege, Reggie Leonard, Charlie Ward, and Dennis Brock; his nieces, Sherry Miller, Sharon Lou Everhart, Sheila Ward, Darnell Whit, Diane Allen, Mona Beck, Alisa Hunt, Debra Day, and Cindy Matthews; and his special great nephew and niece, Justin and Holly Hege.
