Foil Alexander Lohr, age 87,of Wall Street, Lexington,died Thursday May 4, 2006 at his home after declining health. A funeral service wil be 11:00 am Saturday May 6, 2006, at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mike Hooper,burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Lohr was born October 24, 1918 in Davidson County to Harvey Lee Lohr and Retta Mae Hedrick Lohr. His parents, one brother, Robert “Bud” Lohr and two sisters, Doris Lee Porter and Laura Mae Everhart preceded him in death. Mr. Lohr was a graduate of Ashemore Business College and retired from Dixie Furniture where he worked in the complaint department. He was a member of First Reformed United Church Of Christ and after retirement worked for The J.F. Ward and Pickett and Green Clothing Stores. He honorably served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Janie Barnes Lohr of the home;daughters, Phyllis Ann Rabon and husband Donald of Hendersonville and Martha Jane Wilson and husband William of Lynch Station, Virginia.
He is also survived by a sister Carolyn Sullivan and husband Bob of Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.
