Ford Everhart

August 13, 1926 — February 9, 2013

Mr. Ford Everhart, 86, of East US Highway 64, died Saturday, February 9 at Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 11 at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, by the Rev. Frankie Matthews. Burial will follow at the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Monday prior to the service at the church. Mr. Everhart was born August 13, 1926 in Davidson County to Charles Franklin Everhart and Vallie Lee Crotts Everhart. He retired from John Morrell and Co. of Sioux Falls, SD. He was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church and Woodsman of the World. Mr. Everhart was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 3074. His sisters, Pauline Swing, Naomi Hartzog, Rosa Mae Everhart, Della Wright, and Florence Laymen, and his brothers, Clyde Everhart, James Everhart, Cletus Everhart, and Charlie Everhart, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Joy Benton Hill Everhart of the home; his daughters, Lou Clifton and husband, David, of Lexington and Gail Westmoreland and husband, George, of New Bern; his sister, Ollie Smith of Lexington; his grandchildren, Chase Clifton, Cole Clifton, Michele Grimes, April Willard and husband, Andy, Robin Westmoreland, and Lindsay Westmoreland; and his great-grandchildren, Nautica Grimes, Ashton Grimes, Joshua Westmoreland, and Jalyn Westmoreland. Memorials may be made to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington NC 27292.
