Robert Fowle Nichols, 77, of Lexington, N.C., died Saturday, August 22 at Hinkle Hospice House after an illness of five years.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm Wednesday, August 26 at Jersey Baptist Church by the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Nichols was born April 20, 1938 in Davie County to Roy Latham Nichols and Ruby Lois Nichols. He retired from Lexington Telephone Co. and was a member of Jersey Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and a member of National Graniteware Society.
After retirement he pursued his passion for antiques and collectibles, traveling, buying and selling antiques.
He is survived by his son, Robert Nichols, Jr. (Susan) of Lexington; his daughters, Debra Myers (Hugh), Joyce Murray (Larry), and Lisa Nichols Caviness (Chuck), all of Wilmington; his brothers, Charles Faulkner (Ethel) and Larry Faulkner (Betty Sue), both of Lexington; his sisters, Mary Lois Jessup of Pilot Mountain, and Carol Faulkner Varnadore of Lexington; his grandchildren, Hutch Prince, Candice Myers, Heather Cole (Chris), Cody Myers, Abby Nichols, Dylan Caviness, Kailyn Caviness, and Haley Murrill; her great grandchildren, Caton Clark, Cutler Stewart, Carver Cole, and Mallory Cole; and mother of his childern, Jeffie Lookabill Nichols of Lexington.
