Foy Marston Farabee, 88, of Sink Farm Road, Lexington, died Saturday, April 12 at Lexington Memorial Hospital after an illness of two weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 15 at the Psalm 91 Church, officiated by Rev. Max Shoaf. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with Masonic rites performed by Lexington Masonic Lodge 473.
Mr. Farabee was born May 3, 1919 in Davidson County to John Lewis Farabee and Beulah Shoaf Farabee. He was a retired ranger with the NC Forestry Service and member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 473. He was an avid camper and had camped in every state in the Continental United States and two provinces in Canada. He was a member of Tyro United Methodist Church and was predeceased by his wife, Nellie Koonts Farabee; a son, John Randall Farabee; and a sister Margaret Alwayne Farabee.
He is survived by his daughter, Dean Rummage, and husband, Olin, of Lexington; his grandchildren: Kathy Gobble and husband, Larry, Layne Childs and husband, Tim, Lisa Moorefield and husband, Jeff, Jan Rummage, Melissa Farabee, Kimberly Farabee, and Scott Farabee; his great grandchildren: Elias Gobble; Leal Gobble; Larra Gobble, Ashley Childs, Chris Childs, Jason Owens, Kristen Moorefield, Jennifer Royall, and husband, Mike, Lauren Humphrey, and Jacob Ivey; and his great great grandchildren: Bradley Royall and Zackery Royall.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter on Sink Farm Road.
