| Foy Lee James, 85, of Brian Center nursing home, formerly of Giles Road, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at the nursing home following an illness of nine months.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Rolling Heights Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Wayne Sechrist. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. James was born in Davidson County on October 28, 1921, to Walter James and Effie Freedle James. He was retired from Burlington Industries after more than 40 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Mae Hartman James; and sons, Glenn James and wife, Virginia of Lexington, Grady James and wife, Shirley of Clemmons, Garland James, Melvin James and wife, Shirley, and Vernon James, all of Lexington, and Van James of Alaska; grandchildren, David James, Tina Cooper and husband, Earl, Mary Ann McGee and husband, Keith, Eric James and wife, Angie, Daniel James and wife, Megan, Andrea Swicegood and husband, Brian, Julie Sink and husband, Scott, Mindy Thornton and husband, Josh, Amy James, Damon James, and Holly James; and great-grandchildren, Tressa McGee, Tanner McGee, Noah James, Emily Swicegood, Jacob Swicegood, Trad Sink, Hali Sink, Heaven Thornton, and Serenity Thornton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
