Frances Goss Beeker, 82, of West U.S. Highway 64, formerly of Belmont Road, Linwood, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Linwood United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. Cindy Arnold, Wade Wright and Don Noblitt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Beeker was born May 18, 1924, in Davidson County to John Alexander Goss and Mary Jane Spurgeon Goss. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank Goss and James Goss; and a sister, Ruth Goss Bourne.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Melvin M. Beeker of the home; a son, Melvin "Sonny" Beeker and his wife, Judy, of Mocksville; two daughters, Phyllis Leonard and her husband, Lindsay, of Lexington, and Nancy Beeker of Asheville; six grandchildren, Shelly Leonard and her husband, Michael B., Dana Buie and her husband, Terry, Michael L. Leonard and his wife, Heather, Brian Beeker and his wife, Jennifer, Amy Blackwell and her husband, Bobby, and Sally Allen and her husband, Luke; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the residence at 2473 West U.S. Highway 64.
