Frances Byerly

Frances Shields Byerly, 88, of Tyro School Road, died Monday, March 8 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 12pm Friday, March 12 at the Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Sam Harvey.

Frances was born September 16, 1932 in Guilford County to Edward Rufus and Paulie Sudie Long Shields. She retired from PPG Industries and was a member of Christian Baptist Church. She loved gardening and growing flowers. Time with her family and her friends at Tyro School Apts were very important to her. Her sister and her four brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, David Ashby (Teresa) and Joe Ashby (Teena); her grandchildren, Jason Ashby (Elissa), Julie Beane (Jason), and Jody Creech (Allen); and her great grandchildren, Travis Ashby, Caleb Beane, Madison Beane, and Jonathan Everett (Rachel).
