Frances Coates Leonard, age 84, of Piedmont Crossing, Thomasville formerly of Grimes Circle
Lexington, passed Sunday morning (May 22, 2011). Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday (May 24, 2011) at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Sarah Snell officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Frances was born in Davidson County, July 30, 1926, to C.H. Coates, Sr. and Ida Belle Coates.
She was a volunteer and a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, and a volunteer at Piedmont Crossing. She was a homemaker and an administrative assistant for Dr. Don Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Anderson Leonard, Sr.; a grandson, Hunter Leonard; four brothers and a sister.
Surviving are; three sons, Jack Anderson “Andy” Leonard, Jr. and wife Jill of Lexington, Daniel Coates Leonard and wife Lori of Apex; Charles Julius Leonard of Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren, Anna McCulloch and husband Webb and Meredith Leonard all of Lexington, Matthew Leonard of New York, Blake Leonard, Chris Leonard and Ashley Leonard all of Apex;
two great-grandchildren, Myers and Jack McCulloch of Lexington.
