Frances Catherine Koonts Floyd, 86, formerly of Allred Road, died Saturday, January 10 at Lexington Health Care after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday, January 12 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. David Talbert. Burial will follow at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Floyd was born July 17, 1928 in Davidson County to Thurman Boyd Koonts and Myrtle Thomas Koonts. She retired from Link-Taylor Furniture and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Her husband, Millard Roosevelt Floyd, preceded her in death, as well as her parents; her loving step-mother, Beatrice Daniel Koonts, her sister, Dorothy Bailey, and her grandson, Dwayne Kenneth McMahan.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Floyd, Bruce Floyd, Gerry Floyd, and Farrell Floyd, all of Lexington; her daughters, Kathy Cope and Sherry Lariscy, both of Lexington; her brother, Bobby Koonts; her sister, Verna Lee of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
