Frances Beckner Fry

Frances Beckner Fry, age 88, of Carolina House of Lexington, formerly of School Street, passed away Friday (4-3-2009) at Moses Cone Medical Center in Greensboro. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday (4-8-2009) at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Pearson and Rev. R.N. Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Frances was born in Stanley County, October 9, 1920. She was a homemaker and a member of Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church. She attended Appalachian State College and was a member and Past President of The Lexington Women Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Waller S. Beckner and Willie Maude Lookabill Beckner, her husband James Lewis Fry, Sr. and a son Dr. James Lewis Fry, Jr. Surviving are: son Frank B. Fry and wife Rev. Kaye H. Fry; five grandchildren, Zebulon Fry and wife Lisa, Kathryn Fry, Dr. Parrish Fry, James L. Fry, III wife Lauren and Torrey Fry; three great grandchildren; daughter in law, Dr. Terry L. Fry of Georgetown, SC; and one sister Dorothy Penry of Lexington. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.and at other times at the home of Frank and Kaye Fry, Appomattox Rd.
