Frances Inez Grubb, 85, of Welcome Bethesda Road passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday (July 8, 2010) at the Mausoleum Chapel of Forest Hill Memorial Park and Entombment will follow.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Frances Haynes, 186 Welcome Bethesda Road, Lexington and at the graveside following the service.
Mrs. Grubb, was born on September 7, 1924 in Akron, Ohio to Spencer McNeil and Thurma York McNeil. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Grubb; sisters Catherine Weisner and Lorraine Valentine; daughters-in-laws, Martha Grubb and Trisha Grubb.
Surviving are; two sons, Dr. Steven Grubb of Wake Forest and Terry Grubb of Winston Salem; two daughters, Frances Haynes and her husband Steve of Welcome and Diane Reeves and her husband Larry of Pinnacle; 6 grandchildren, Grant and Dion Haynes, Dale and Tommy Reeves, Ashley Sweeney and Travis Grubb; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Maxine Anderson and husband Dallas of Winston Salem; Wilma Merritt of Rural Hall; and Estelle Litewski of Delaware; two brothers, J.R. McNeil and wife Susan of Sun City, Arizona and Ray McNeil of South Carolina; and her faithful companion Tummyboy. Also the family would like to extend their thanks to Carolyn Cunningham and Brenda Snedeker for all the help given to Mrs. Grubb.
