Frances McCrary Townsend, age 78 of Regency Center Circle Lexington passed away
Friday afternoon at Lexington Health Care. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 2 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where she was a member, conducted by Rev. Doug Hochmuth, and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Frances was born in Davidson County October 3, 1929 to Joseph Frank McCrary and Mintie
Kinney McCrary. She was retired from Hanes Knitting, and was active in the DARE Program, Cancer Services of Davidson County and the Red Hat Ladies. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tony Townsend, Sr., two brothers; her twin Johnny Ray McCrary and David Franklin McCrary, two sisters; Mary Ellen McCrary and Iris Jessup.
Surviving are: Son; Tony Townsend, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Lexington, 1 granddaughter;
Michelle Townsend O’Bryant and husband Matt of Lexington, two great-grandchildren; Collin Townsend O’Bryant and Nolan Spencer O’Bryant, four sisters; Peggy Freedle, Ruth Dietz, Nancy McCrary and Betty McCrary all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Sunday night at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and at other times at the home.
