Frank McKinley Akers, 79, of Walnut Grove Road, Lexington passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Brian Center of Lexington. A graveside service will be 2 pm Sunday, at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Preacher Clyde Akers. Mr. Akers was born May 22, 1928, in Grayson County, Va., to Will Akers and Vennie Lee Bourne Akers. He was a retired self employed truck driver. Mr. Akers was preceded in death by his wife, Evangeline Kirby Akers. Surviving are his sons, Dallas, Terry, Donald, Jerry, Eddie and Gary Akers, all of Lexington; his daughter, Brenda Ballew of Lexington; one brother, Hobart Akers of Fries, Va.; and a sister, Edna Leath of Lexington; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1:45 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Walnut Grove Road. Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church P.O.
