Frankie Louise Walser Ballew, age 85 of Turner Road died Monday, August 22. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Walser. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of her son at 121 Park Circle, Lexington. Frankie was born in Davidson County on Feb. 5, 1931, to Zeb Lester and Emma Everhart Walser. She was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture, where she worked for 28 years before her retirement. She was a member of Near Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. She was God-fearing woman, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her adult life to being a preacher's wife where she worked side-by-side with her husband, the late Rev. Junior Ballew, who died March 5, 2006. Also she was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry Kenneth Ballew, who died Aug. 4, 2016; sisters Mildred Leonard, Dorothy Dunn and Betty Robbins, and brother James Walser. Surviving are daughter Bonnie Ballew Mauney (Jeff) of Lexington; son Allen Ballew (Margaret) of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Jamey Ballew, Frank Ballew, Christel Perry, Melissa Ballew, Jessica Mauney, Brooke Easley and Kevin Ballew; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
