Frankie Darnell Powell

Frankie Darnell Powell, age 82 of Lexington passed away Saturday morning, September 22, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday September 25, 2018 at East End Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gainey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 until 1:00 prior to the service.

F rankie was born in Davidson CountyMay 30,1936 to G.W. Darnell and Frances Davis Darnell. She was a retired employee of LFI and a member of East End Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bobby” Powell in 2017 and brothers, Jerry and Bill Darnell.

Surviving are her daughter, Vickie McCarn (Binky) of Lexington; son, Robert Dale Powell of Lexington; grandchildren, Kelly Thompson (Eddie) and Andrew McCarn; brother, Danny Darnell (Sylvia) of Lexington.
