Frankie Biesecker Surratt

Frankie Jo Biesecker Surratt, age 91, passed away at her home in Broadway, NC with her family by her side on April 5, 2024.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, April 7 at 4:00 PM, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Sandy Young. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.

She was born June 23, 1932, in Lexington, NC to her loving parents, Robert Grant and Naomi Lanning Biesecker. Frankie attended Lexington Sr. High School and Ashmore Business College.

In 1950 Frankie married O.W. (Boots) Surratt and was married for 45 years until his death and together they built a family and life filled with love, joy, and laughter. They traveled many places with family and friends, but her favorite destination was anywhere with water and sand.

Frankie was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kind-hearted person. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave one in Christ”.

Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband O.W. “Boots” Surratt, her sister Maurice Woodle, her brother Guy Biesecker, and niece Lucinda Thompson.

Frankie leaves behind her daughter Tonya Surratt, special nieces and nephews; Speedy Woodle, Mitzi Woodle-Kidd, Debbie Scates, Lisa Hilliard, many great-nieces and nephews and friends that were like family to her.

Memorial may be made to The American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
