Franklin Elmo Ashby

Franklin Elmo Ashby, 85, passed away August 13, 2020 at home with his loving wife by his side.

Mr. Ashby will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington on Monday, August 17 ^th from 11 am until 5 pm.

A private military graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 18 ^th .

Mr. Ashby was born June 1, 1935 to Charlie M. Ashby and Octa Leeanne Hudspeth Ashby.  He served his country in the United States Navy.  He was a retired truck driver from Yellow Freight in Charlotte and was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Ashby was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozelle Strickland Ashby in 2002; stepson, Buddy Watkins in 2014; sister, Linnie May Jones; brothers, Raymond, Marvin, Robert, Garland, Paul and Claude Ashby.

Surviving are his loving wife, Margaret Hill Ashby, of the home; stepson, Jeff Garrison and companion, Tami West, of Arcadia; stepdaughters, Regina Garrison Brewer of Arcadia and Linda Akers of Lexington; step daughter-in-law, Becky Watkins, of Tyro; step grandchildren, Brittainy (Brad), Amber (Kyle), Jason (Kimmi); step great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Luke, Annabeth and Hudson, and several other step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to donor’s choice.
