Franklin Roosevelt Brown, 87, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on April 18, 2026 in Lexington, NC.

Frank was born in Charlotte, NC on October 22, 1938 to parents John Dewey and Bertha Mae Brown. He excelled in football and baseball at Central High School growing up poor on a mill hill. Frank was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 50 years starting as a City Letter Carrier in uptown Charlotte in 1962. He met his bride Carolyn Boger at the Charlotte Tax Office, and they married in 1961 and had three daughters. The family relocated to Oak Ridge, NC when Frank was promoted to Postmaster in Oak Ridge and Mocksville and finally settled in Lexington, NC where he served 32 years as Postmaster.

Mr. Brown served his country with 28 years in the Air Force National Guard and Army Reserves setting up mail routes in South Korea and later trained mail handlers for Desert Storm. He enjoyed summer trips to Holden Beach with his family. He is survived by his daughters Robin (Roger) Craft of Kannapolis, Leslie (Alex) Trullinger, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Carolyn Boger Brown of 58 years, daughter Ashley “Aggie” Brown, his parents and three brothers.

To celebrate Franklin’s life, the family will receive family and friends, Wednesday, April 22 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. A private graveside service and burial will be held immediately following the visitation.
