Franklin Mitchell Carter, age 83 of Linwood Road, Lexington passed away Friday morning at Hinkle Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Center Hill Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Brian Alexander, Rev. Roy Cantrell and Rev. Ron LaRocque. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 12:30-1:30 prior to the service.
Frank was born in Davie County May 17, 1929 to Samuel C. Carter and Nezzie Sheets Carter. He was a retired employee of Fab Masters and worked after retirement for Lexington Self Storage.
He was a longtime member of Center Hill Baptist Church and served as a deacon and various other committees in the church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Weaver Carter; brothers, Clarence, Earnest, Allie, Paul, Aaron, Billy and Coleman Carter.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Carter and partner Sandy MacRae of Clemmons; grandchildren, Shelley Carter Fulk of Lexington Stephanie Gustafson of Las Vagas, NV; great-grandson, Scott Fulk; great-great-grandchildren, Drew and Carter Fulk; sister, Willie Mae Jones of Mocksville; brother and sister-in- law, Joe and Betty Weaver of Lexington; sister-in-laws, Ruth Laws of Mena, AR, Lucille Carter of Winston Salem, Nettie and Chloe Carter of Mocksville, Wilma Carter of Newport, TN and Marie Carter of Lexington; special nieces, Melissa Bradshaw and Diane Weaver of Lexington.
