Franklin Devon Hazzard Sr.

Franklin Devon Hazzard Sr., 88, of Nottingham Drive, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday December 27, 2020.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday December 31, 2020 at Freedom Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Preacher Clyde Akers conducting services.

Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thomasville North Carolina.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those attending the services are ask to practice social distancing and to wear a face covering.

Mr. Hazzard was born November 9, 1932 in Guilford County to Arthur Lee Hazzard Sr. and Laura Ellen Webber Hazzard. He graduated from High Point University in 1959. Franklin served his country in the United States Army and was the Poster Boy for the U.S Army. Mr. Hazzard was owner operator of Franklin D. Hazzard & Associates as a  Broker in the Textile industry, and in his spare time he loved fishing, studying geneology, bird watching and was also an avid reader. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sherri Tysinger; three brothers, Albert Hazzard, Arthur Hazzard Jr, and Marion Hazzard, and three sisters, Virgina Inglert, Blanche Futo and Faye Kee, and a grandson, Hoyt McBride.

Surviving is his wife Diane Kirkus Hazzard, of the home; three sons, Bradford Hazzard of Arizona, Von Hazzard (Sunny) of Georgia, and Todd McBride of Lexington; two daughters, Tami Cashatt (Chris) of Lexington and Creacy Young (Keith) of Lexington, one sister, Doris Davies of South Carolina; 7 grandchildren, Laura Tysinger, Isaac Cashatt, Oliver Cashatt, Heath McBride, Zane Hazzard, Madeliene Hazzard and Samuel Hazzard.
