Franklin Dillard Reid

Franklin Dillard Reid, 72, of Leonard Road, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salisbury National Cemetery by Dr. Robert Floyd. Mr. Reid was born in Rockingham County on May 21, 1935, to Thomas Jefferson Reid and Lela May Carter Reid. He was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and 17 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his loving companion, Nancy Everhart, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home.
