Fred Max Leonard

Fred Max Leonard, 79, of Green Needles Drive, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, at Second United Church of Christ wilt hr Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane, Preacher Clyde Akers and Rev. Kenneth Marshburn officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Leonard was born September 29, 1931, in Davidson County, to I.M. Leonard Sr. and Myrtis Roauke Leonard. He was owner/operator of Leonard Body Shop and a member of Memorial United Church of Christ. Mr. Leonard also served in the U.S. Army. Surviving are his wife, Linda Costner Leonard of the home; sons, Ira Max Leonard and wife, Georgia, Jonathan Lawrence Leonard and wife, Tina, all of Lexington, and Phillip Leonard and wife, Patricia, of Salisbury; grandchildren, Brianna, Brittany, Charity, Matthew, Max and Zachary; brothers, Pat Leonard and wife, Evelyn, Larry Leonard and wife, Jewell, all of Lexington, and Danny Leonard of Jacksonville; and a sister, Loretta Leonard of Atlanta, Ga.
