Frederick Lee "Fred" Conrad

January 6, 1929 — February 1, 2013

Frederick Lee “Fred” Conrad, 84 of Hoover Road passed away at 8:00 pm Friday at his home after an extended illness.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by  the Davidson County Honor Guard.   Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home of the daughter, Dawn Bell on Hoover Road.   Mr. Conrad was born on January 6, 1929 in Davidson County to Yoder Cline Conrad and Lena Myers Conrad.  He was a member of First Lutheran Church and was retired from AT&T as a master technician. He also served in the U.S. Army.  He was predeceased by his parents and wife Jean Phillips Conrad who died January 6, 2010; brothers John Conrad and Glenn Conrad; sisters, Sarah Busse and Ruth Paquin.   Surviving are daughters Dawn Bell and husband Gary and Tamara Stutts and husband Bryan of Lexington; two grandchildren Justin Stutts and Jennifer Link and husband Kyle, sister Delia Ann Stone of Salisbury, sister-in-law Bobbe Conrad of Lexington.   Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Rowan County, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
