Frederick Kenneth Tope, Jr. 61, of Lexington went home to be with the Lord Monday morning December 18, 2017 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Thursday December 21, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel with Pastor T.W. Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A Salina, KA (Saline County) native, Ken was born August 24, 1956 the son of, Frederick Kenneth Tope, Sr. and Nancy Tope Consiglio. At the age of 10 Ken saved the lives of a young boy and girl and was awarded the state of Maine Young Americans Award for Bravery. He retired from Douglas Battery Company. Ken was preceded in death by his father Fredrick Kenneth Tope, Sr. and sister, Alicia Tope Lataret. Kenneth is survived by his loving parents Nancy Tope Consiglio and Jerry of Sierra Vista, AZ; his loving wife of 25 years, Robin Tope of the home; daughter, Ashley Dorsett Sullivan and husband Collin of Lexington; sister, Sarah Tope of Columbus, OH; several loving nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles and a very special aunt, Aunt Millie. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Novant Forsyth Medical Center for the compassionate, loving, tender care that was provided to Ken and his family while he was a patient.
