Freida Lundy Johnson

Freida L. Johnson passed away Friday July 26th 2024 at her home with family by her side. A funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Tuesday July 30th 2024 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Kelly Moore officiating. The family will receive family and friends one hour before service. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31st 2024 at Monta Vista Memorial Gardens in Galax, VA with Rev. David Langley. Freida was born February 17th 1938 in Grayson County, VA to Edith Vass Lundy and Samuel Lundy. Freida was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Welcome, NC and retired from Johnson Industrial Coating and North Davidson Furniture Company. She enjoyed watching NFL football games and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. Also her time with the welca group at her church. Her time with her family especially children, grand children and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kemp Junior Johnson and her brother Andre Lundy. Left to cherish her memory are her son; Jeff Johnson “Kelly Holcomb”, daughter; Karen Chesson, grandchildren; Jared Johnson, Jennifer Alcon (Cory), James Porterfield (Christine) and Jessica Munger (Eric). Greatgrandchildren; Damien Smith, Michaela Porterfield, Brooks Alcon and Henry Alcon. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 1119 Welcome, NC 27374.
