Gale Musgrave Lanning

Gale Musgrave Lanning, 83, formerly of Waitman Road, died Sunday, September 22 at Mallard Ridge of Lexington. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, September 25 at First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Ray Howell, III. Burial will follow at Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 10 to 11 am Wednesday. She was born August 10, 1936 in Davidson County to Clyde Wilson Musgrave and Lucille Fritts Musgrave. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed baking cakes and catered weddings and other events for many years. Her husband, Donald Lee Lanning, her daughter, Amelia Lanning, and her brother, Buck Musgrave, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Nathan Lanning and wife, Angela, of Charlotte; her grandson, Nathan William Lanning of Charlotte; and her sisters, Kay Timberlake and husband, Bob, of Lexington, and Meg Hinson and husband, David, of Charlotte.
