Garland Smith Ford, 79, of James Street, died Wednesday June 27, 2007, at High Point Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
A graveside service will be at 11 am Friday June 29, 2007 at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Jimmy Robbins.
Mr. Ford was born in Watauga County on November 15, 1927, to Ira Verlon Ford and Betty Ford Ford. He was retired from Hennis Freightlines where he was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Wanda Faye Robbins Ford.
Surviving are sons, Russell Ford and special friend, Gail Moretz, of Lexington and Daryl Ford and wife, Barbara, of Dallas, Tx.; daughter, Linda Wolfe, of Lexington; brothers, Arlene
Ford, Troy Ford both of Lenoir, and Roy Ford and wife, Loretta, of Hudson; sisters, Orpha Shuford, of Hickory, and Shirley Watson, of Bessemer City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials made be made to Davidson County Public Library, 602 South Main street, Lexington NC 27292 .
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the home on James Street.
