Gary Dale Briggs, 77, of Alamance County, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Gary was born on May 14, 1947, in Lexington to the late Raymond Odell Briggs and Pauline Parker Briggs. A retired textile engineer who last worked for DuPont, Gary was known for his sharp wit and kind spirit. He was a simple man who found his greatest joy in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A proud alumnus of NC State University, Gary was an avid supporter of the Wolfpack, cheering for his team with enduring passion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Hinkle.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Beth Beck Briggs; his son, Christopher "Mark" Briggs (Robin); his daughter, Sherry Elizabeth Briggs (Ken Arthur); his brother, Ron Briggs (Bebe); his grandchildren, Lauren Briggs, Alexis Briggs, Nathan Arthur, Amanda Parks (Josh), and Abby Conder (Brandon); and his great-grandson, Gordon Parks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Society of North Carolina, Attn: Donations, 5121 Kingdom Way, #100, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Gary's life was marked by love, devotion, and all things Wolfpack. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
