Gary Wayne Davis, age 72 or Gray Road, Lexington passed away Saturday night at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 4:00 pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Revs. Jody Harrison and Tim Gammons. Burial in Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 3:00 until 4:00 and at other times at the home of his son, Pastor David Davis, 582 Gray Road, Lexington.
Gary was born in Davidson county November 17, 1940 to Lester Franklin and Lossie Lee Loflin Davis. He was a retired employee of Mid State Tile. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War; member of VFW Post 3074, American Legion Post 8 and Amvets Post 13. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sue Davis in 2006; brothers, Buck and Kenneth Davis.
Surviving are, his daughter, Tracy Davis Thomason (David) of Lexington; son, Pastor David Davis (Debbie); grandchildren; Susan and Seth Thomason, Brad and Chad Davis; brother, Terry Lee Davis of Denton; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
