Gary Farabee

Gary Brent Farabee, age 67 of S. NC Hwy 150, Lexington died Monday, May 5, 2008 in High Point Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Psalm 91 with Rev. Max Shoaf and Rev. Bill O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Farabee was born March 11, 1941 in Guilford County to Gilmer Blackburn Farabee and Mary Inez Ridge Farabee. He graduated from West Davidson High School and attended Wingate College. He was employed with Carolina Concrete for more than 25 years. A musician since childhood, he played drums at Psalm 91, where he was a member. Gary was a US Veteran, having served in the Air Force. Preceding him in death were his parents, and a brother, Kent Farabee. Surviving are two sons, Chris Farabee and wife Kristie of Hillsville, VA, Corey Farabee and wife Kimberly of Lexington; daughters, Leisha Hutchins and husband Kenneth, Melinda Farabee, Nickki Walls, Melissa Estep all of Lexington; 12 grandchildren, Sarah Hutchins, Misty Stamey, Randy Calloway, Joshua Calloway, Elizabeth Richardson, Alyssa Farabee, Taylor Farabee, Shea Farabee, Jacob Paquette, Jade Paquette, Nevada Estep and Jordan Estep; a great grandchild, Ian Stamey; a brother, Kevon Farabee of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, a sister, Vanessa Farabee of Lexington and a Special friend, Teresa Motes. The family will receive friends and family from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Wednesday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME and other times at the 405 S. NC Hwy 150, Lexington. Memorials may be directed to Psalm 91-Giving Fund, 930 Michael Rd., Lexington, NC 27295 The family would like to thank Dr. Johnathan Hinson, Carolina Cardiology and the CHF Clinic for their kind and compassionate care for so many years.
