Gaynelle Hunter

Gaynelle Bradley Hunter, 77, of East Ninth Street, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Freedom Baptist Church by the Rev. Clyde Akers. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Hunter was born Dec. 19, 1928, in McDowell County to Joseph and Lula Revis Bradley. She was a retired assembler with Philpott Furniture Co. and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.B. Hunter, who died in 1971; two brothers, Duard Bradley and Roland Bradley; and two sisters, Eva Reel and Lula Bell Short. Surviving are one son, Roland Hunter and his wife, Mattie, of Albemarle; two daughters, Donna Baker and her husband, Larry, of Lexington and Jessie Watkins and her husband, Poly, of Linwood; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and at other times at the home of the daughter on Glenwood Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1242, Lexington, NC 27293.
