Gene Edwin Hiatt, 80 of Woodsway Drive Lexington passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem after an illness of 6 weeks. A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thomasville Assembly of God where he was a member, with the Rev. Tommy Vestrat officiating. Inurnment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mr. Hiatt was born in Randolph County, IN on July 3, 1936, to Harry Hiatt and Leah Shultz Hiatt. He was retired from Rex International Company serving as Human Resource officer and served our country in the US Airforce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Burris Hiatt, his parents and a granddaughter Holly. Surviving are his sons, Dean Hiatt (Amy) of IN, Eric Hiatt (Sharon) of Ohio, Bob Williams (Cathy) and Glen Williams all of GA; daughter Marie Morgan (Kerry) of Midway; brother, Robert Hiatt (Linda) of SC; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
