Gene Sink

Allen Eugene Sink, age 76, of Lexington passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston Salem.   A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.   Mr. Sink was born on May 6, 1941 in Davidson County to William Franklin Sink Jr and Phoebe Elizabeth Evans Sink. He was a veteran of the US Army, sereved at SHAEF Headquarters in Paris, France, and severed in the Honor Guard and Military Police. He also served as an officer for the Lexington Police Dept and most recently was a car salesman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Billy Franklin Sink, Ralph Sink, Roy Sink, and Noel Sink; and a sister, Lois Sink Storzbach.   Surviving are his two daughters, Jennifer Sink Newton (Scott) and Mary Beth Sink Massey all of Burlington; sister, Barbara Sink Lanier of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Kelsey Newton Madren (Justin), Tyler Cole Newton, Stephanie Lee Watlington; six great-grandchildren, Noah, Colton, and Finley Madren, Easton Newton, Dylan Watlington, and Cameryn Davis; as well as special family and the love of his life, Priscilla Harb of the home; and daughter, Tammi Britt of Lexington; her son, Scott Hedrick of FL; grandchildren, Hunter Britt and Madison Britt; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins in NC, TX, and GA.     Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association at 1300 Baxter St. Suite 150 Charlotte, NC 28204.
