James Eugene “Gene” Wilson, 57, of Hampton Road, Clemmons died Monday, October 3, 2011, at High Point Regional Hospital after three years of declining health.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday at Faith Chapel with Bishop Ronnie Shaw officiating. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Garden of Memory Cemetery in Clemmons, with Military Graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington and at other times at 404 Lake Shore Ave. Lexington.
Gene was born November 27, 1953 in Davidson County to Roy Lee Wilson and Lucille Sims Wilson. He married his beloved wife, Kathy Wilson on August 19, 1975. Gene served in the US Army, Davidson County EMS as a paramedic, Lexington Police Department as an officer, Davidson County Sheriff’s Department as a Lieutenant Detective, North Main Exxon and Davie County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy. He obtained his Master Law Enforcement Certificate on February 12, 1997. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Roy Lee Wilson, Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Foltz Wilson of the home; a son, Chris Wilson and wife, Dara, of Clemmons; a daughter, Jeannette Craver and husband, Keith, of Lexington; his mother of Lexington; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his beloved service dog, Noah.
