General “Chockie” Marion Branham, 81, of Wilson Road, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at his home following an extended illness.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Lexington City Cemetery, with the Rev. David Langley officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Branham was born June 14, 1933, in Powell County, Ky., to Whit Branham and Isabelle McIntosh Branham. He was retired from the City of Lexington and an alumnus of the American Children’s Home. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Blanton Branham; brothers, Wilson Branham and John Wesley Branham; and sisters, Verna and Maggie.
Surviving are son, Mark Blanton and wife Tiffney of Lexington; three grandchildren, Preston, Brandon and Courtney Blanton; and sister, Louise Dittus and husband Earl of Winston-Salem.
