Geneva Benton Hayes, age 73, of Carolina Avenue, Lexington passed away Monday morning at Lexington Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Rev. Edwin Chriscoe officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday.
Geneva was born in Horry County, SC December 3, 1939 to Harry Benton, Sr. and Elizabeth Mausley Hickman Benton. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries and retired from Dixie Furniture; and was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonzie Guy Hayes, May 9, 1991; brothers, Jessie and Bernice Benton; sisters, Ruby Lee Gobble and Elizabeth Moss.
Surviving are; son, Liston (Monk) Hayes (Amanda) of Kernersville, NC; daughter, Jennifer Ann Hayes of Lexington; grandchildren, Zachary (Zach) Hayes (Anne); Hannah Alliston Hayes, Keljen Jones and Aislyn Shoffner; great-grandchildren, Mattea and Violet Geneva Hayes; brothers, William Benton of Tabor City, Kenneth and Harry Benton, Jr. of Loris, SC, Billy and Kevin Benton of Hartsville, SC and Steven Benton of Whiteville; sister, Juanita Benton Johnson of Gadsden, AL.
