Geneva Morgan Long, 93, of Grayson Creek of Welcome, died Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Tyro United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating.
Mrs. Long was born January 17, 1922, in Rowan County, to James Monroe Morgan and Emma Eagle Morgan. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, CW Long Sr.; brothers, Baxter Morgan, Curtis Morgan and Raymond Morgan; and sister, Pearl Swicegood.
Surviving are a son, Charles W. Long Jr. of Lexington; daughters, Barbara Barnes and husband Jeff of Lexington and Betty Cain and husband Rick of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Chris Urioste and her husband German, Andy Barnes and his wife Joni, and Matthew Barnes and his wife Heather, Dana Dhaliwal and her husband Sundeep, Kristin Cain, and Kevin Cain and his wife Shannon; and seven great-grandchildren.
