Geneva “Pete” H. Everhart, 79 of the Reedy Creek Community died Thursday January 1, 2009 in Wake Forest University Medical Center after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug McGee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Everhart was born in Davidson County on March 24, 1929 to William Hill Hailey and Agnes Louella Link Hailey. She was retired from Erlanger Mills. At Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church she was a member of the Bible Class. Her husband, David Roy Everhart; son Tony Ray Everhart; daughter, Nancy Everhart Lee; a sister Rachel Hailey; and a son-in-law, Terry Lee preceded her in death.
Surviving are son David Everhart and wife, Debbie, of Lexington; daughter, Linda Phillips of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Neil Lee and wife, Rachel, Chad Everhart and wife, Cara, Sammy Lee and wife, Jennifer, Jason Paquin, Amy Paquin, all of Lexington, Brandy Everhart of Virginia, Justin Evans and Renee Evans, both of Thomasville; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Hailey of Lexington; and daughter-in-law, Mitzi Everhart of Thomasville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home of her son, on Old Mill Farm Road.
