Genievee Marie Jackson Hodge, of Ed Rickard Road, passed away early Friday morning at her residence.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Revs. Randy Robbins and Tim Edwards and Pastor David Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Hodge was born August 1, 1933, in Wilkes County, to Lindsay Jackson and Mary Burchett Jackson. She was a member of Promised Land Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Louise Garris.
Surviving are her husband, Harvey Winfield Hodge Sr. of the home; sons, Terry Hodge and Harvey Hodge Jr. and wife, Jerlene, all of Lexington; daughter, Kathy Duke and husband, Rodney; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Jackson and wife, Kay, of Lexington, and Dean Jackson and wife, Sue, of Mocksville; and sisters, Thelma Hill and husband, Thurman, Carolyn Blackburn and husband, Doug, all of Lexington, Susan Stone and husband, Thomas, of Yadkinville, and Dorsie Brooks and husband, Harlis, of Winston-Salem.
