Genny Cecil Wicker

Glenda “Genny” June Cecil Wicker, 56, of Franklinville, formerly of Welcome, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro, she fought cancer for several years. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Welcome, where she was a member for 47 years, and a very fine Christian lady, by the Rev. Ray Hamilton and Pastor Mark Blair. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Glenda was born July 11, 1952, to Artis and Betty Everhart Cecil of Davidson County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell “Mickey” Wicker in July 1999; and a special nephew Larry Scott Wishon who died in June 1991. Surviving are her dear loving friend, Carl Harmon, of the home; a son, Josh Wicker and his wife, Lynn, of Franklinville; two granddaughters, Jessica and Mariah Wicker; one grandson, Issac Wicker; her parents, of Welcome; a sister, Gail Wishon and her husband, Steve, of Welcome; one brother, Donald Cecil and his wife, Gina, of Lexington; three nieces, Tammy and Karsyn Fowler and Laura Cecil; and one nephew, Dalton Fowler, that was loved so very much. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
