George Bivens

George Flay Bivens Age 76 of NC Hwy 47, Lexington died Saturday February 11, 2006 at his home Mr. Bivens was born in Catawba County on April 28, 1929 to Otis Isaiah Bivens and Essie Maudella Hullett Bivens. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Learnie Bivens, Robert Bivens, Cecil Bivens, John Bivens, and sister Pearl Chapman He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lingerfelt Bivens of the home, a son Gary Bivens of Lexington, and daughters, Sandra Bivens Smith and husband Avon of Charlotte; Gilda Bivens Spiegel and husband Walter of Lexington and Sherri Bivens Jordan and husband Danny. Grandchildren Michelle Halbach; Amy Jo McCranie; Eric Hudson; Natalie Hudson; Amy Jarvis; Joshua Spiegel; John Spiegel; and Brandi Stewart and 14 Great Grandchildren. Brothers, Lawrence Bivens and Clinton Bivens both of Lexington and sisters, Ruth Wilson of Lexington; Corrine Smith of New Port News, VA and Glenda Bean of Galax, VA A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. David Robinson and Rev. Sherman Branch, Jr. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 2430 NC Hwy 47
