George Bowers

George William “Willie” Bowers, 100, of Westover Dr., Lexington passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 in Hinkle Hospice House.   A service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 19, 2016 in First Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by Davidson County Honor Guard.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home.   Mr. Bowers was born January 28, 1916 in Davidson County to George Edward Bowers and Clarabelle Parks Bowers. He was a retired employee of United Furniture, a member of First Lutheran Church and was a US Veteran , having served in the Navy.  Preceding him in death was his wife, Coralee Burrell Bowers, December 30, 2012 and his brothers and sisters.   Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Beck, Patti Grant both of Lexington; four Grandchildren, Kelly Mavropoulos, Ashley Morgan, Cassie Hassan, Matthew Grant; five great grandchildren, Colby Mavropoulos, Camden Mavropoulos, Maryem Hassan, Macie Morgan and Madison Morgan.
