George William Crouse, age 81 of Sweetbriar Drive, Lexington passed away Friday (October 2, 2009) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday (October 7, 2009) at First Reformed United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Walter Patten officiating. Burial will be at Lexington City Cemetery at a later date.
George was born in Davidson County, April 11, 1928 to Melvin William Crouse and Mamie Sullivan Crouse. He was a retired employee of Duracell, a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie Everhart Crouse who died November 13, 2008, two brothers, Jack and Buck Crouse.
Surviving are; one son, Steve William Crouse and wife Sharon of Lexington; one granddaughter, Allie Gray Crouse; three sisters, Pat Jackel of Lincoln University, PA, Jean Withers of Georgetown, Delaware and Louise Lankford of Thomasville.
There will be no formal visitation.
