George Homer Driver

George Homer Driver, 60, of Grimes Apartments, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at High Point Regional Medical Center. The graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park, led by the Rev. Randy Hall. Mr. Driver was born in Davidson County on June 4, 1946, to Homer Eldrige Driver and Grace Agusta Williams Driver. He was a former employee of Linwood Manufacturing. Mr. Driver was a gentle man who never met a stranger. He loved eating at all the local restaurants. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, dance and play putt putt golf. He also loved to play Santa Claus to young and old alike. He enjoyed seeing the smile on a child's face when he gave them candy or a toy. Mr. Driver will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepbrother, Paul T. Gray Jr., who died in 1967.
