George Washington Fowler

George Washington Fowler, Jr., age 97 of Lexington, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lexington Health Care.

There will be a private Celebration of Life at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Military Honors.

Mr. Fowler was born in Gaston County, NC on October 28, 1923 to George Washington Fowler, Sr. and Marie Fowler.  He retired from Brookside Barber Shop and attended Spruce Street Baptist Church.  Mr. Fowler served in the United States Navy during World War II and was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Sue Fowler Fowler, of the home; sons Chris Fowler (Kathryn) of Bermuda Run, Glenn Oshea (Libby) of Lexington, Terry Fowler of Salisbury and Gary Stevenson (Peggy) of Lexington; daughters, Penny Westmoreland of Winston-Salem and Rhonda Oshea of Nashville, TN; sister, Sherrill Norman (Gerry) of Gastonia, NC; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew.

Family and friends who wish to sign Mr. Fowler’s register book and pick up a memorial folder may stop by Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic wearing a facial covering is requested.
