George Bernard Knotts Sr., 72, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Burgess Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Salisbury National Cemetery by Dr. Flem Otey.
Mr. Knotts was born in Chase, Md., to Samuel Knotts and Mattie Goins Knotts. He was a retired welder with Davidson Chemicals and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes Graham Knotts of the home; seven sons, Larry Knotts, George Knotts Jr. and Bernard Knotts, all of Baltimore, Md., and Samuel Knotts, Abraham Knotts, Johnny Knotts and Joshua Knotts, all of Lexington; one daughter, Janie Knotts of Lexington; 15 grandchildren, three stepdaughters, Lynette Burgess of Baltimore, Md., and Elsie Eades and Jackie Eades, both of Lexington; one stepson, Janario Graham of Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Daisy, both of Baltimore, Md.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday prior to the graveside service at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and at the home other times.
